Press Release on Flight from Riyadh to Kozhikode

      The first flight from Saudi Arabia for evacuation of Indian nationals as part of Vande Bharat Mission from Riyadh bound to Kozhikode has departed from the King Khalid International Airport Riyadh.

2.    The flight is carrying 152 passengers including four infants. The passengers mainly consist of stranded workers and medical cases, including pregnant ladies. All passengers have been screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to boarding.

3      This is the first of five flights scheduled from the Kingdom to evacuate Indian nationals in the first phase.  The next scheduled flight is from Riyadh to Delhi on 10 May, followed by a flight from Dammam to Kochi on 12 May and two flights from Jeddah to destinations in Kerala later in the week.

4.     Flights to additional destinations in India are being explored in the coming week for which separate notifications would be issued shortly.
