Embassy of India, Riyadh celebrates Constitution Day on November 26, 2019

The Embassy of India, Riyadh celebrated the Constitution Day on November 26, 2019 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Dr. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al-Harbi, Saudi Shura Council Member and Chairman of the India-Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Committee was the Guest of Honour. The event was attended by a large number of members of the Indian community.

Ambassador of India Dr. Ausaf Sayeed in his remarks briefly mentioned the salient features and the evolution of the Constitution of India and the leadership role played by Dr. BhimraoAmbedkar as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee.

Guest of Honour Dr. Abdullah Al-Harbi highlighted the growing bilateral relations between India and Saudi Arabia and the areas of cooperation between the Parliamentary Committees of the two countries.

The documentary “The Making of the Indian Constitution”, produced by LokSabha Television was screened on the occasion. The event concluded with brief talks by students of the International Indian School Riyadh on various aspects of the Constitution.
