Celebration of the 72nd Republic Day of India

The 72nd Republic Day of India was celebrated on January 26, 2021 at the Embassy of India, Riyadh. The Tricolour was unfurled by Ambassador H.E. Dr. Ausaf Sayeed followed by the playing of the National Anthem. Ambassador read out the President’s Message to a limited gathering of Indian community members and Embassy officials, following Covid-19 safety protocols. The event featured rendition of patriotic songs and dance performance by Indian school students. A blood donation drive organised by Shapoorji Pallonji was also inaugurated by the Ambassador. The event was also streamed live through the Embassy’s Youtube channel.

A reception was held on the eve of the Republic Day on January 25th at Hotel Faisaliah, Riyadh in which a limited number of Saudi and Indian business persons were invited. A formal National Reception was hosted later in the evening on January 26th at the Cultural Palace, Diplomatic Quarter, in which was graced by Ambassadors and senior Saudi dignitaries. The Mayor of Riyadh His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf was the Chief Guest. The event featured cultural performances by school students, a photo exhibition depicting Indo-Saudi bilateral relations, and paintings by various Indian artists based in the Kingdom.
