VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT  FOR THE POST OF INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR

Applications are invited from resident Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia and having valid Iqama/National ID and are not ineligible to work in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the post of Interpreter/Translator in Embassy of India, Riyadh, KSA.  The Pay Scale for the post would be SR 7200-216-10440-313-13570-407-17640. The initial per month pay for the post is SR 7200.

2. Eligibility criteria for the post of  Interpreter/Translator

(a) Bachelor's Degree in Arabic language with mandatory English language subject during (or above) the Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Advanced
Degree will be preferred. Certificates to be attested by i) the concerned State Government; ii) Ministry of Education, New Delhi; iii) Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

(b) Ability to translate from Arabic to English and vice versa.

(c) Proficiency in the use of computers

(d) Good command on spoken and written English

(e) Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic.

(f) Working experience as English-Arabic translator/interpreter is highly desirable. An experience certificate for this will be required confirming their work as an English-Arabic translator or interpreter. Interpretation will be required for official delegations.

(g) Under the upper age limit of 45 years as on 01/08/2026.

3. Selection Process for the Interpreter/Translator will be as follows:

(a) Short listing of applications/examination of documents.

(b) A written test; involving objective and subjective questions.

(c) Candidates who qualify written test will be called for typing test and Interview.

(d) The Interview will be conducted by the Interview Board/Selection Committee. Candidate’s overall personality and experience in the field will be tested during the interview.
